Undergraduate Programme:

UG students opting Resource management and Consumer sciences as specialisation, interior designing will be offered as professional elective. The Interior Designing elective is a comprehensive, professional curriculum that prepares students to become professional interior designers who identify and create functional interiors. They prepare drawings and documents relative to the design of interior spaces in order to enhance and protect the health, safety and welfare of the people. Nodal Agency:

The Department of Resource Management and Consumer Sciences has been recognized as a nodal agency by the Department of Consumer Affairs, Food and Civil Supplies, Government of Andhra Pradesh in the year 2003, for implementing Consumer Education Programmes in the state which is a very prestigious offer. The staff of Department of Resource Management and Consumer Sciences has developed educational material on various issues of Consumer education in the form of Reading Material, folders, posters and multimedia package in both English and Telugu. In order to facilitate detection of food adulteration by each and every consumer without any technical know-how, an adulteration kit for the detection of food adulterants has been developed. Training programmes on consumer education were conducted to the functionaries of Government Department's of Andhra Pradesh by using these materials.
